The popular tea bag material, One Earth®, is used by many tea and coffee companies but also has been known to be used for things other than tea and coffee. One Earth® which is biodegradable and compostable in 14 to 21 days, has been used by non-food companies for their material. While tea uses 24gsm, One Earth® comes in a very strong 33gsm and 40gsm weight for “dusty” products. Erin Heryford, Managing Director for One Earth®, stated “Our One Earth® material has been used for bath salts, spices, sachets and deodorizers. The material is wonderful for many things – not just coffee and tea! We really enjoy hearing from people that are thinking outside of the box and whom have interest in our material for their product.”
The One Earth material has been used for single serve coffee pads (with no plastic), large ice tea bags, lemonade and can withstand boiling water. The One Earth® material, which is one of the most environmentally friendly products available, is great to be used for products that are dusty and need to be filtered.
The material was certified biodegradable and compostable on May 17, 2018 by OWS – Ghent, Belgium. One Earth® is an all-natural filter media, allergy and gluten free. One Earth® comes in rolls with different weights and widths. This material can be used for tea, coffee and dusty products. Another great addition is that the material can be embossed with a company name and/or logo. One Earth® is manufactured in the USA from Biodegradable fibers, and FDA compliant.
